Meet Your Mentor

Hi, I’m Cindy

Founder of Candle Studio 1422 and Soy Candle Mentor.

I first started candle making as a hobby — a way to de-stress from the nine-to-five grind while raising a family. I simply needed a creative outlet. But I quickly realized something important: not only did I enjoy candle making, it was also something meaningful I could share with others.

That spark led me to start selling online and at local markets. And in November of 2020, I opened my brick-and-mortar studio — a candle-making space where I taught hundreds of people how to make their own candles through classes.

My Journey in Candle Making

For the last seven years I poured my heart into running Candle Studio 1422. It grew into a thriving retail and online brand where I:

  • Partnered with businesses and nonprofits to run successful fundraising programs and  events
  • Taught hundreds of people to make candles in workshops
  • Built a loyal customer base both locally and online
  • Balanced marketing, production, and growth strategies as a solo owner

In 2025, I made the decision to close my physical store and pivot my business to be online only. Quite frankly, I wanted my weekends back to spend with my family. But I also wanted to keep teaching — not just how to make candles, but how to grow a candle business.

Why Soy Candle Mentor?

Over the years, I’ve learned so much about what it takes to turn a passion into a business. I’ve experienced the overwhelm, the trial and error, and the endless flood of information out there.

My goal through Soy Candle Mentor is simple:
✨ To reduce that overwhelm and give new makers clear, actionable steps to move forward.

Instead of spending hours sifting through random advice, I’ll help you focus on what actually matters: creating candles you’re proud of, pricing them correctly, and building a business that works for your life.

My Approach

I believe candle making should be joyful, not stressful. That’s why everything I share is:

  • Practical – step-by-step tips you can implement right away
  • Clear – no jargon, just guidance that makes sense
  • Supportive – encouragement from someone who’s been where you are
